Pitch In!

YerbaBio is committed to engaging and working with others in our bioadvocacy and EcoCPR efforts, and we welcome inquiries from those interested in supporting our work, partnering with us, or getting out there themselves for some hands on EcoCPR!

See below for various ways to get involved...

Volunteer

Volunteering is a great way to learn more about YerbaBio, our local landscapes, and biodiversity in general. Read below for more on specific volunteer opportunities - and if interested, contact us at { [ recipient (volunteer) ] at [ domain label (yerbabio) point domain label (org) ] }.

Habitat restoration

Most of our volunteer opportunities involve habitat restoration through removal of non-native plants. The majority occur at Edgewood County Park near Redwood City, though we occasionally have opportunities elsewhere.

Our restoration work is generally comparable to moderate gardening, and typically involves being off trail, sometimes on slopes or uneven terrain. Participants should be in reasonable condition and able to look out for themselves.

We have no specific age limits, however most participants are teenage or adult - preteens may participate at the discretion of their parents. And in all cases we ask that non-adults be accompanied by one of their own parents.

Business and community groups are also welcome, with a little extra planning - if you'd like to arrange a group event let us know, and we'll work out a plan with you!

BioBlitzes

We occasionally participate in BioBlitzes, particularly in collaboration with San Mateo County Parks. If you'd like to stay informed about these events and when YerbaBio will be helping with them, please let us know.

Leadership roles

We're always on the look out for knowledgeable, experienced, or skilled individuals to help coordinate or lead events, improve our website, build our organization, and more. If you feel you can help YerbaBio with its mission of bioadvocacy and EcoCPR, let us know!

YerbaBio is currently unincorporated, and not yet a qualified 501c3 organization. We welcome donations to help cover our expenses, however right now such donations are not tax deductible. For details on how to donate, please contact us at { [ recipient (contact) ] at [ domain label (yerbabio) point domain label (org) ] }.

If you prefer to make a tax deductible donation in support of biodiversity and EcoCPR, there are a wide variety of local, regional, or national organizations you might consider, including:

Partnering

At YerbaBio we always have our eyes and ears open for new opportunities to partner with other groups and organizations that share our bioadvocacy and EcoCPR goals.

If your organization is interested in partnering to establish or enhance a restoration program, increase staff and volunteer knowledge, or enhance outreach efforts, please let us know at { [ recipient (contact) ] at [ domain label (yerbabio) point domain label (org) ] }.
